Baptisms

Child baptism or thanksgiving

We offer two types of services: a Baptism service – sometimes called a christening – and a Thanksgiving service.

In a baptism service, the parents and godparents declare their faith and trust in Jesus, and promise to raise the child to know and love Jesus. This service is for people who consider themselves Christians.

A Thanksgiving service is an alternative to a Christian baptism and celebrates the birth of the child. This service is for people who may be exploring the Christian faith, but are yet to make a commitment to Jesus.

Adult baptism

In an adult baptism service, the person declares publicly their faith in Jesus and belief that they are saved through His death and resurrection.

Weddings

Funerals

Funeral directors can make arrangements on your behalf for a funeral service to be held at St Peter’s, or for our minister to involved in a service held elsewhere. If you would prefer to contact us directly, please call us on 9482 7250.
